The present-day U.S. military qualifies by any measure as highly professional, much more so than its Cold War predecessor. Yet the purpose of today’s professionals is not to preserve peace but to fight unending wars in distant places. Intoxicated by a post-Cold War belief in its own omnipotence, the United States allowed itself to be drawn into a long series of armed conflicts, almost all of them yielding unintended consequences and imposing greater than anticipated costs. Since the end of the Cold War, U.S. forces have destroyed many targets and killed many people. Only rarely, however, have they succeeded in accomplishing their assigned political purposes. . . . [F]rom our present vantage point, it becomes apparent that the “Revolution of ‘89” did not initiate a new era of history. At most, the events of that year fostered various unhelpful illusions that impeded our capacity to recognize and respond to the forces of change that actually matter.

France again condemns Iraq for carrying out numerous executions.

PAIS Oct 9: For the second time in less than a week, the French government on Tuesday "firmly condemned" Iraq for carrying out multiple executions and for the extensive use of capital punishment in that country.

In the past week, Iraq has executed 23 people and has now put 119 to death since the beginning of the year.

------------

How much of this is politically motivated abuse of power and blatent racism from the Iraq government towards Sunnis. I would like to see stats on the percent of Sunnis vs others put to death cause don't tell me that Sunni politicians are the only ones who have let people down in ragards to death squads in Iraq. And don't tell me that people are terrorists and deserve the death penalty for fighting against people invading and making war on their country. Don't tell me that Iraq has a capable justice system that isn't an American installed puppet racism of hate towards Sunnis.

This Maliki puppet is becoming the same shit we see in American politics where they run around crying wolf at innocent people yet in Iraq this dick has one hand pointing the finger and the other on his stoneage rope. I'm begining to see he is nothing but a delusional madman whose actions will result in more planes flying in America because he is obsessed on power for everything about himself while placing expectations that are NOT immediately achievable in the near future on his opponents with total disrard for his own actions and will not share the power like democracy is meant to be. TELL ME IRAQIS WHO REALLY RUNS DEATH SQUADS IN IRAQ??
