#1: Afghan police have killed 12 militants and arrested 33 others during cleanup operation within day, said the country's Interior Ministry on Tuesday morning. "Afghan National Police (ANP), supported by the army, intelligence agency and the NATO-led coalition forces, carried out several cleanup operations in Helmand, Ghor, Paktiya, Logar, Wardak, Uruzgan, Kandahar, Kunduz, Baghlan and Nangarhar provinces over the past 24 hours. As a result, 12 armed Taliban were killed, two wounded and 33 others were arrested," the ministry said in a statement.
#2: Two alleged terrorists were killed during encounter with police in Pir Abad area
on Tuesday. According to police, a gang of five armed men on motorbikes attacked police
mobile in the area of Pir Abad and injured a policeman.
