PM Abadi announces that Iraqi forces have retaken the city of Hawija. Some bad news for this is that it sets up a confrontation between Baghdad and Kurdistan over control of Kirkuk.
The body of Iraqi Kurdish leader, founder of the PUK and former president of Iraq, arrives in Sulamaniyah following his death on Tuesday in Germany.
PM Abadi calls for peshmerga to "remain an integral part of the Iraqi forces under the authority of the federal authorities", which is perhaps disingenuous as that is not really the case now. In any event he says he wants to avoid armed conflict.
After losing internantional flights to the ban imposed by Baghdad, Erbil airport may not be able to remain open.
Turkish president warns he will close the border with Kurdistan. He also threatens to shut down pipeline carrying KRG oil.
